Top Games for PS4

1. WatchDogs

One of the few games on this list that is not part of a pre-established franchise, Watch Dogs operates on a bold premise: an open-world game where computer hacking is a central aspect of the game mechanics, cleverly integrated to keep things exciting and fast-paced while still offering the kind of puzzle scenarios you thought gaming abandoned years ago. Oh, and the whole game takes place within a futuristic Chicago, gorgeously rendered and totally open to your exploration.

2.Metal Gear Solid V

The Metal Gear franchise is among the oldest and most popular in console gaming, and Hideo Kojima, the series' creator and creative director, is to gaming what the Coen brothers and Martin Scorsese are to movies. So what can we expect from the latest in the Metal Gear Solidseries? Revolutionary graphics, even for the next-generation consoles, and a story line so convoluted it makes European history seem accessible. But that won't make it any less enjoyable or epic, nor will it stop legions of devoted fans from buying what they know will be one of the most polished and immersive games out there.

3.Outlast

It's been a very long time since you first entered the town of Silent Hill or walked into Raccoon City's police department, and, unfortunately, few games since then have managed to recapture the heart-thumping anxiety of those early classics. Outlast will change all that. Outlast will force you to turn the lights on, invite some friends over and maybe turn the sound off, too. And even then, you're probably not going to sleep any time soon after playing it. The premise is simple: You're investigating an insane asylum once run by Nazis, equipped only with a night-vision-enabled camcorder, and something -- some hulking, frightening creature with glow-in-the-dark eyes -- is hunting you.

4.Call of Duty : Ghosts

Like it or not, Activision's Call of Duty franchise isn't going anywhere, andCall of Duty: Ghosts, the 10th offering in the series, will probably break sales records and flood the world with annoying television ads featuring B-list celebrities and rappers. But it will also define first-person shooters for the next-gen consoles and will probably dominate the online multiplayer world for months after its release.

5.Battlefield 4

There is never any shortage of first-person shooters, and most of them aren't worth writing about. Battlefield 4 is the rare exception, replacing mindless spray-and-pray with gameplay mechanics that emphasise tactical approaches. The graphics are phenomenal and its multiplayer is the best challenge to Call of Duty's supremacy, offering an insane 64-player limit that is sure to cause mayhem.

6. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Few games have drawn as much excitement and buzz as Ubisoft'sAssassin's Creed, and for good reason: the graphics, gameplay mechanics and story line of the entire series have been nothing short of revolutionary. And, let's be honest, one of the greatest joys of playing a video game is doing what you can't do in real life, and it turns out that even more than flying, controlling electricity or saving the world, gamers love to hack, stab and shoot virtual enemies. Ubisoft's latest entry in the Assassin's Creedfranchise looks to make those things more fun than ever.

7. InFAMOUS: Second Son

Video games have promised to replicate the superhero experience better than Hollywood does, but the sad truth is that the majority of superhero video games, with few notable exceptions (Rocksteady's Batman series, for one), have been cheap hack jobs looking to capitalise off of a movie franchise's popularity. The inFAMOUS series changed all that, giving players not only an incredible amount of control over their character's powers but the choice to use them for good or for evil.

8. Killzone: Shadow Fall

The latest in the Killzone series wowed E3 audiences with its trailer, delivering the mind-blowing graphics and brutal combat simulation fans of the series have come to expect. But it's the sheer expansiveness of the game that really impresses, the small imaginative details of design that have gone into creating the planet Helghan, making it worthy of the best science fiction Hollywood has to offer. Developer Guerilla Games has also managed to secure top voice acting talent from shows like True Bloodand Homeland to bring a new level of realism to the story.

9.  FIFA 15

There's always been some mystical connection between EA's FIFA series and the console controllers that has made the game of soccer fun and exciting even for non-soccer fans, and FIFA 15 looks to be no different. Expected improvements like better facial representation, in-game mechanics (including the ability to control player stride!), and a more realistic physics engine that will make you feel every tackle, are only the tip of the iceberg, as the Career mode has been significantly expanded, allowing you to hire scouts to monitor upcoming club league talent. Oh, and it has managed to sign licensing deals with all new clubs, expanding the scope of the game for fans all over the world.

10.  Madden 25

The latest installment in the most storied video game sports franchise will be released later this month on the Playstation 3 and in mid-November on the Playstation 4, meaning you'll have to wait a bit longer to embarrass your drinking buddies. But if the new engine, improved foot tracking and features like field wear and improved pass blocking are any indication, Madden 25 will take your friendly rivalries to a whole new level.
